"Bond Watches, James Bond Watches"
June 2010 - April 2011
First-ever public display of all then-identified James Bond watch brands associated with the movies and original literary stories.
Centerpiece attraction was 007-creator Ian Fleming's own 1960 Rolex James Bond watch.
All eight watch models supplied by Seiko UK to the EON Productions movies were shown. These were exclusively identified for us by Mark Mills through original research. Appeared in five consecutive movies, from "The Spy Who Loved Me" (1977) to "A View to a Kill" (1985).
Both James Bond watch models from "The Living Daylights" (1987) were uncovered working with TAG Heuer experts David Chalmers and Paul Gavin, and prime examples of each appeared here.
Other watchmakers included Breitling, Fossil, Gilbert, Hamilton (Pulsar), and Omega. Actors' autographs, original movie props. A limited edition "Casino Royale" Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean rounded out popular highlights.
Special thanks for support from Lewis Jewelers (Ann Arbor, Michigan), Lilly Library (Indiana University at Bloomington), Fionn Morgan (Ian Fleming's stepdaughter), Revolution magazine, Seiko UK, and Bob Ridley (Watchmakers International).
